We still have plenty of snow, but it is melting! Shelly and I saw a pair of swans on our walk yesterday; I think they mistook a nearby hayfield for a lake. It’s that time of year.
Farming continues on pretty much like normal despite the pandemic, other than thinking ahead on the subject of veggie deliveries and farmers markets, and what, if any, changes might need to be made to our systems. I’ve undergone training previously on Good Agricultural Practices and the Food Service Modernization Act (FSMA) Produce Safety Rule, and I will keep myself informed on the latest recommendations for farmers and consumers. Rest assured, we will do our best here at Stone’s Throw Farm to keep your food supply safe.
In the meantime, I certainly sympathize with my customers and other community members who are out of work, and those who must keep going to work despite the risks. Take good care of yourselves!
