The inaugural campfire at Stone’s Throw Farm took place last Friday. It’s something Elden and I have been meaning to do since last fall . . . which is why the first thing burned in the fire pit was old lath we tore off the hoophouse when we disassembled it at its former location. It’s been accumulating moisture for a long time, but burned just fine.
Camping at the farm was fun, but I can’t wait until I can wake up there every morning.

Congrats on your first fire!! Did Elden carve a special rock for the stone ring? Wish we could have been there, but I see many more wonderful campfires in your future!
No, no specially carved rock for this fire ring — guess that was a one-time deal. Or maybe he just hasn’t received a proper invitation to carve one!
Can’t wait till you guys can join us at the farm some evening — it’s beautiful right now. 🙂
