Yesterday Elden finished this fancy seed germination station that he built for me and set up in our basement. Nice, eh? I don’t have the bottom heat yet but otherwise it’s all ready for starting seeds. It fits 5 standard-sized trays. The height of the lights can be adjusted and there’s room for another shelf below this one if I decide I need more room.
There’s only one way to find out if it works. In a week, if the onion seeds and heat mat have arrived, I’ll give it a try.

Elden tell’s me you are having trouble finding leek seed. Did you try Peaceful Valley (www.GrowOrganic.com). Got a catalog in the mail for the first time this year. I was happy to discover that I can purchase a 55 gallon drum of fish emulsion, guaranteed to keep the joggers from stopping and chatting about my flowers.
Your blog site is lovely and I am very jealous of your ability to make WordPress do anything that looks so good!
And last but not least, I do very much like your name and logo.

Thanks, Diane. It’s great to hear from you. I can’t take any credit for the logo–that was all Elden.
Yes, leek seed seems to be on backorder several places; I haven’t tried Peaceful Valley and will give them a call. Good idea on the fish emulsion!
